PREVIEW - Top of the table Droitwich Spa FC to host fifth place Wellington Amateurs tomorrow

DROITWICH Spa FC maintained their 100 per cent home record and their place at the top of the table with a 5-2 victory over Tipton Town.

After some good early chances, The Saltmen went 1-0 down when Jake Fairhurst scored an impressive volley from the edge of the area.

They were soon 2-0 down when Connor Garrett’s fine finish gave Ryan Williams no chance.

But then, just after the half-hour mark, captain Connor Collins got one back with a header and two minutes later Connor Baker scored to draw Spa level.

Like Molloy gave Droitwich the lad just before half-time, slotting home into an empty net and then the home team went from strength-to-strength to finish the job in the second half.

The second half was barely minutes old when Connor Baker grabbed his second to make it 4-2 before Cory Rudd’s header dropped into the net to round off the result and enabled The Saltmen to remain top of the table with 14 points from six games.

It was nothing less than Droitwich deserved and they will be looking for more of the same tomorrow when they visit fifth placed Wellington Amateurs.
