Mow tear up rivals once again; Star & Garter tumble - Droitwich Pool League latest

MERCILESS Barley Mow romped to their fifth consecutive high-scoring victory in the latest round of Droitwich Pool League matches.

The runaway leaders, who are 24 points clear at the top of the Mid-West Premiership, swept aside fourth-placed Salt ‘n’ Asbo’s 8-1, the fifth result in a row in which The Mow have won by this scoreline or higher.

While Masons Chalked Up won their 17th match this season to keep up the pace, they fell further behind after winning by the tighter margin of 6-3 away to The Doverdale Arms, who remain fifth.

A place behind in third are Never In Salted, who sent The Star & Garter plummeting to the bottom of the division after a 7-2 rout. The basement side were wounded further by their two-point deduction after the game for failing to confirm their result by the league deadline.

The Pillar of Salt shocked seventh-placed hosts DWMC to run out 5-4 winners and move to second-bottom.

The Pillar of Dreams saw off tenth-placed Wessie Wanderers 6-3 to stay sixth, and it was the same scoreline also recorded by The Dovey, who consolidate ninth, against 11th-placed Rifle No Mans.
