DROITWICH Spa swimmer Rebecca Redfern took home her first-ever title from the World Para Swimming Allianz Championships on Thursday.
The 19-year-old took home gold in the SB13 100m breaststroke, and will now target signing off in style when competing in the 50m freestyle on the final day of the Championships on Sunday.

It puts the University of Worcester student in good stead for next year’s Paralympics in Tokyo – where she will aim to add to the silver medal she won in Rio de Janeiro in 2016.
In Thursday’s win, she was forced to dig in deep to fend off American Colleen Young,
“It has been great cheering everyone on, but it is nice to have my own bit of glory,” she said.
“And to do it with a gold – there is no better way.
“It is an amazing feeling to be up there with the likes of Alice [Tai] and Maisie [Summers-Newton].”
