DROITWICH Spa CC secured a three-wicket win against Bromyard CC in their Worcestershire County League Premier Division clash.
Spa all-rounder Martyn Davies shone with the ball as he recorded impressive figures of 6-80 to limit Bromyard to 254-7 from their 40 overs.
Nick Leighton (100) and Rob Willis (113) both his centuries for Bromyard as the pair put on a staggering 200 runs for the third wicket before Davies eventually claimed both batters.
Max Young (1-52) took Spa’s other wicket with John Parker (15 not out) the only other Bromyard batter to reach double figures.
Droitwich made good early progress in their run chase as openers Ash Fearnall made 45 and Ajay Kumar 26.
And Davies showed his class with the bat as he scored 83 from just 77 balls before Max Young hit a quickfire 40.
Wickets became more frequent towards the end of the innings but Droitwich held their nerve thanks to Connor Grant’s 24 from 13 deliveries to reach 258-7 after 37.2 overs.
