WYCHAVON has been named as one of the best places to live, according to a new survey.
The Halifax Quality of Life Survey 2016, which placed Wychavon third behind Winchester and the Orkney Islands, considered a range of factors from employment rates and earnings to housing, health, education and more.
With a relatively large number of bars and pubs per 10,000 adults, high life expectancy and the third highest number of health and fitness clubs, 3.5 per 10,000 adults, Wychavon scored strongly in the Personal Well-Being section of the survey.
Coun Linda Robinson, Leader of Wychavon District Council, said the authority aimed to be an outstanding, innovative council which delivered services to improve life for all residents in the district.
“Our strategy focuses on making it possible for people to be healthy, happy, active and supported in a green, clean and safe district, and amongst prosperous and vibrant communities.
“That’s why we’ve invested in projects that support the local economy and encourage business growth and have been generous in sharing some of our New Homes Bonus with communities where significant housing development has occurred.”
