PUPILS from Witton Middle School were shown how to make ‘brilliant burgers’ by an expert in the field.
Lyn Marshall – the head chef at the town’s Gardener’s Arms – went into school to teach some of the children her secret burger recipe.
Simon Berry, the pub’s landlord, said: “Lyn had a great time teaching the youngsters how to make some quality burgers.
“The children had lots of fun making them and even more eating them,” he said.
Teaching assistant Ruth Sinnassamy said: “I don’t think many of them realised they could make their own burgers – they were quite surprised.
“It taught them how easy it would be for them to make their own healthy burgers rather than get them from a big chain.”
