THE VIDEO below shows how police brought a cloned car to a stop after a pursuit of more than 40 miles on the M5.
Officers from Worcestershire Operational Patrol Unit (OPU) worked with colleagues from Central Motorway Police Group (CMPG) to bring the chase to a successful conclusion.
The car – stolen from the West Midlands Police area – was spotted at Junction 4 (Bromsgrove).
The teams pursued it on the M5, through Droitwich and Worcester, stopping it by using a TPAC (Tactical Pursuit and Containment) manoeuvre between Junctions 7 (south Worcester) and 8.
A TPAC is when the police pull their vehicles in front of a suspect car, alongside and behind to box it in.
After stopping the car, officers arrested the driver who was also wanted for other offences.
