Warm welcome for French Farmers at Droitwich Festival

TRADERS from the weekly Friday market in Victoria Square and mayor, Coun Graham Beale, welcomed farmers from Droitwich’s twin town.

The group drove 1,230km from Voiron, which is in the Rhône-Alpes Region in the east of France, and set up their stalls at the Friday Market and the Saturday Market the day after, at the annual Droitwich Food and Drink Festival.

Among the group were three farmers, the chairman of Voiron’s English Club and the man who runs their twinning association.

Mike Nott, the chairperson of the Droitwich French Twinning Association, said the visit was a big success.

“Four of them had never been to Drotiwich before and they were delighted with the reception they got.”

Anyone wanting more information about the French Twinning Association or farmers interested in visiting Voiron should e-mail Mike Nott on [email protected] and calling 07756 876269.
