Vandals continue to wreak havoc at The Raven hotel

Droitwich Editorial 28th Oct, 2021   0

RESIDENTS are left outraged as vandals continue to wreak havoc at The Raven hotel, leaving the developer no choice but to board up the windows.

The Raven Hotel has been closed since 2010, and there are now plans to redevelop the site, however the developer chose to leave the windows uncovered, so that residents could continue to look inside the building.

As well as houses, Brine Baths are set to be included in the plan, which could return baths to Droitwich for the first time in more than a decade.

Chair of Save our Brine Baths, William Moy said: “It’s partially derelict at the moment, and there’s been a lot of break ins in the past, but they’re getting worse and worse,.

“The last one occurred days ago, when youths broke in using crowbars and actually painted the windows and they broke in using crowbars.

“The concern is, the more damage to the manor house itself, the more expensive it’s going to be.

William said the owner of the proposed development has actually met them face to face and asked them please not to do any more, however it continues to reoccur.

The local police have logged the situation and they are monitoring it, but William is asking is all residents could keep an eye out for the vandalism.

“The residents enjoy the Raven, and they wanted and they really want the Brine Baths back as well, but it’s hindering the development and the severely damaging what’s what’s left of the Manor House.

“Regretfully the owner is he’s going to board the windows, and this is an important point, the reason he’s not boarded the windows before his because he wanted the general public to be able to look through the windows and see what the Raven looks like at the moment.”

If anyone sees any vandalism call 101.
