TWO people were arrested this morning after a quantity of Class B drugs were seized during a police raid at a Droitwich house this morning (Tuesday).

Police executed a warrant at a house on Shepherds Place in Westlands at 8.40am today, where they found a quantity of cannabis, after complaints of drug use in the area.

The force smashed through the front door to gain access and the house was searched by uniformed officers and a dog handler.

A man and woman were arrested for possession with intent to supply Class B drugs.

Police Constable Rich Rees, of Droitwich Town West and Rural West, said: “This was a great result where we have acted on the concerns of residents.

“A quantity of drugs were found at the address and searches continue, two people were arrested for possession with intent to supply.”

Before the operation, PC Rees spoke of the importance of the Droitwich Spa Neighbourhood Watch site as a way of communicating with the public.

He said: “This warrant was a result of the community saying ‘we have a problem here, can you sort it?’

“That is why the site is such a benefit because people can communicate with us and tell us of any issues.

“It is about responding to people and helping them where they need it.

“Westlands has a reputation of being rough and ready and it really isn’t that bad.

“The residents want things to improve and they want issues to be sorted especially drugs, they want it off the estate.”
