Two Droitwich teenagers arrested after armed robbery at cashpoint

TWO PEOPLE from Droitwich have been arrested after an armed robbery at a cashpoint at Morrisons in Malvern in the early hours of this morning.

A 15-year-old boy and a 19-year-old man, both from the Spa, were held on suspicion of robbery and are in custody.

The incident happened at 12.20am at the cash machine at the supermarket in Roman Way, when a man was drawing money out and three teenagers approached him.

The man was threatened and assaulted before cash was stolen from him.




It has been reported one of the raiders was holding a blade although it is not believed to have been used in the assault.

The victim sustained head injuries, but did not require hospital treatment..


A number of enquiries are ongoing and officers are searching for a third man who was white, aged around 16 to 17, of a medium build, with dark hair. He was around 5ft 10ins tall and was wearing a blue Nike air hooded top, grey Nike gloves, blue trousers and blue trainers.

Police have appealed for any witnesses to contact them on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
