TWO people have been arrested after a nine-year-old boy died in hospital following a serious incident in Copcut, Droitwich this afternoon.
His death is being treated as unexplained.
A man and a woman remain in custody while police enquiries continue.
Police say the boy’s family have been informed, however formal identification is yet to take place.
The incident happened on Vashon Drive at around 3pm (February 18).
The boy was flown to hospital while in critical condition but sadly nothing could be done to save him.
West Midlands Ambulance Service said two Air Ambulances – one from Strensham and the other from Cosford – were sent to the scene, along with two ambulances and paramedic officers to a medical emergency.
DI Ed Slough of West Mercia Police said: “This is a tragic incident that has seen a young boy lose his life. Our thoughts are with his family at this awful time.
“We are currently treating the boy’s death as unexplained and are carrying out enquiries to establish the circumstances.”
