CHILDREN from St Peter’s C of E Academy in Droitwich have collected a ‘tower of items’ for the town’s foodbank at this year’s Harvest Festival.
Special services were led by Rachel Rean on Wednesday and Thursday at St Peter’s Church, focusing on giving thanks and Rev Laura Handy spoke to the children about looking after the world we live in and appreciating the joy it brings.
Headteacher Tracey O’Keefe-Pullan said the families’ and children’s generosity had been ‘overwhelming’.
“Caring and sharing is part of the school’s ethos, and Harvest time is a great opportunity for the children to put this into action.”
In the school there are many colourful displays celebrating the world, including a display by the school’s Eco-Council to encourage children to think about how to care for the environment.
The school will be holding an Open Morning between 10am and midday tomorrow (Saturday) where families with children due to start school in September 2020 are invited to go along.
