A TALENTED jewellery designer based in Droitwich is hoping to raise £25,000 for NHS Charities Together by creating a new range of bracelets.

Alison Hargreaves, director of Bracelets Together, only launched the online selection in last week after coming across the Covid-19 Urgent Appeal campaign.

All the proceeds from sales will go to the cause and more than £2,000 has already been generated with the total going up everyday.

Supporters can choose from 16 unisex and children’s bracelets hand-made in honour of NHS heroes, care and key workers.

Additional voluntary support has come from far and wide using Alison’s LinkedIn contacts via her main business Tribal Steel.

While furloughed she put a call out online to social media experts, web designers and PR support to raise awareness of the brand.

Alison said she felt uneasy doing nothing during the lockdown hours.

Alison said she felt uneasy doing nothing during the lockdown hours and then came across the NHS Charities Together’s Urgent Appeal which has a £100million target.

“This is where I had to think of what I could do to raise vital funds.”

She wanted the bracelets to enable those buying them to show their backing for the NHS and each one features a message of support for all frontline workers and shows an expression of gratitude towards the NHS, care and key workers.

“We are all aware they are working long, hot uncomfortable shifts, often in very threatening and unpleasant circumstances and without even a nod to previous ‘health and safety’ conventions.

“These are selfless people and they are doing it to protect us.”

Support has spread across social media and even received backing from Dolce and Gabbana model Sam Webb.

Sam has been modelling the bracelets on his Instagram feed.

Also, on board is Lauren Aston from Lauren Aston Designs who has been providing the cause with bright and creative lifestyle images.

Bracelets Together is encouraging those with a bracelet to share their videos or images on social media by using #BraceletsTogether.

Bracelets Together is a non-profit website and for those wanting to support the cause and help tackle the Covid-19 crisis can purchase bracelets for loved ones online.
