A TEAM of 26 runners from a Droitwich-based floorcare company will be hitting the streets of the Second City in aid of Birmingham’s Children’s Hospital.

The employees, from the Droitwich base and the Birmingham City Centre offices of Vax have set themselves a fund-raising target of £2,600 when they take on The Great Birmingham Run this Sunday (October 18). Each Vax runner has aimed to raise £100.

Vax MD David Winterbottom said: “Our team put on a fantastic effort in last year’s race and they are back this year to do even better.

“We’re really proud to be raising money for the Birmingham Children’s Hospital again and we’d urge everyone to help show their support for this great cause by donating at our JustGiving page.”

The Great Birmingham Run is one of a number of sporting events Vax encourages its staff to take part in as part of its ‘VaxFit’ health and wellness scheme – that is aimed at keeping employees fit and healthy through several projects. They include subsidised gym membership, free weekly fruit, health screening and a cycle to work scheme.

Anyone wanting to donate to the Vax team’s cause can visit https://www.justgiving.com/vaxmarathon2014/ or via text message by texting the code VAXM62 along with the amount to 70070.
