A SPARKLING Stoke Prior couple are toasting their diamond wedding anniversary today.
Gerald and Margaret James were married on July 15, 1961, at Bromsgrove Registry Office and went on to have two children – Belinda and David – and four grandchildren – Sarah, Daniel, Jordan and Christian.
Gerald, one of eight children, was born in Stoke Works and worked at the Salt Works which later became Bayer and PolymerLatex.
Margaret, who had three siblings, was born in Rashwood, and worked at various places including for a local paint brush manufacturer.

Sarah said: “I have been told the first time my nan saw grandad was on a train to Blackpool and she didn’t have eyes for anyone else.
“My grandad is quite laid back which balances out well with my gran – they are just a perfect match from each other.”
The pair will be seeing their family today before heading off for a week away in Wales.
“They have also had a card from The Queen too which they are over the moon about,” added Sarah.
