MEMBERS of the Kodokan Judo Club in Droitwich raised £831.14 from a charity bag pack at the town’s Morrisons supermarket.
The cash will now be put towards activities for the junior members.
The club only started in January but has already amassed 24 junior members and nine seniors.
Club secretary Clare Clarke said: “The bag packing was very well supported by all of our members and their families, with many of them staying for six hours to pack bags.”
She thanked the Morrisons staff, Nicol & Co Estate Agents for its kind donation and the people of Droitwich for the amount they contributed.
“The generosity shown has inspired our junior members to undertake even more fund-raising activities and I am sure they will achieve their goals,” added Clare.
In August, the club was able to host a training session, barbecue and disco for a judo club from Bad Ems, Germany, one of Droitwich’s twinned towns.
The club is also raising cash to fund a visit to Bad Ems.
