I WOULD like to wish all Wychavon residents a very merry Christmas and a happy, healthy new year.
It has been an honour to be chairman of Wychavon District Council this year and I would like to thank everyone who has made 2018 so rewarding.
It has been a privilege to have been invited to visit the many events and festivals, as well as local businesses, community groups and charities I have since May. This has given me the opportunity to meet lots of inspiring people who work tirelessly to make sure Wychavon is the wonderful place it is.
At this time of year it is easy to get caught up in all the parties and gift giving. It is so important we take time to reflect on and give thanks for those who go above and beyond to support our communities, not only at Christmas, but all year around.
I would also like to say thank you to all those working in our emergency services, NHS and care sector over Christmas. We are so fortunate to have people who will give up previous time with their loved ones at Christmas to provide the essential services that keep us safe and ensure we are cared for.
May this Christmas season bring you nothing but fond memories, happiness and laughter.
