Smashing news - Tennis sessions to make a 'welcome return' to Droitwich's Lido Park

Droitwich Editorial 17th Jul, 2020   0

TENNIS sessions will make a welcome ‘return’ to Droitwich’s Lido Park next Saturday, July 25, after play was suspended during the Coronavirus lockdown.

Ahead of that people are welcome to go along to the park’s courts between 9.30am and 11am tomorrow to meet the coaches, find out what will be going on, ask any questions and sign up.

Attendees can also stay and use the courts afterwards if they want.

Next Saturday, depending on numbers, there will be two groups – the amounts of players will be limited due to social distancing but the organisers will do all they can to accommodate everyone who wants to play.

And there are two new coaches for the sessions.

Lucy Sanders is a local girl who has played at county level and is qualified as a level 4 coach and Lois Allart, who has been playing tennis in Droitwich for years, passed her level 2 coaching exams last year.

Both will be there tomorrow and be running sessions when they restart.

The organisers said: “It’s been a long time coming but we are over the moon.”
