DROITWICH’S Lido Park will be illuminated at 6.30pm tonight (Friday) when the annual lantern parade takes place.
And it has been announced that, before the event, Spa singing sensation Abby Inez will perform at the bandstand in the park.
John Dudley, from the Four Shires Festival, said: “We asked Abby if she would headline the event and she said she would be delighted.”
The Droitwich Community Choir and the town’s Salvation Army band will also perform seasonal songs at the bandstand and there will be refreshments, food stalls and an appearance by Father Christmas.
Local schools have been making lanterns and it is hoped the whole community will get involved and help make it an annual event.
Estate agents Nicol & Co has backed the parade by donating £500.
Marshalls are also currently being sought to ensure the parade goes as smoothly as possible.
