Droitwich Editorial 9th Feb, 2020   0

A PRESENTATION on ‘The Role of the Royal Navy’ will be given by a group of serving sailors at the latest meeting of the Droitwich Spa Civic Society.

The talk by the Portsmouth-based members will take place after the AGM at 7.30pm on February 21 at the town’s Sacred Heart Church.

The presentation will provide an insight into the various roles of the service, including protecting the shipping lanes around Britain, undertaking post-disaster rescues and taking part in operations throughout the world.

There will be a behind the scenes insight on what life is like both on board and on shore and those gathered will be able to ask questions.

Tickets for the annual get-together, including wine and light refreshments, are £10 each and will need to be booked by Monday, February 10.

Send applications and cheques made payable to Droitwich Spa Civic Society, to DSCS, c/o Walnut Tree House, Ladywood, Droitwich Spa, WR9 0AL.

The Droitwich Spa Civic Society was founded in 1974 when the town was expanding and has continually been committed to the development and improvement of our town, as well as its protection and preservation.
