THE GARDEN at the River School in Fernhill Heath which is set in eight acres of Victorian arboretum will open its gates from 10.30am to 3.30am on Thursday, July 28, to raise funds for the National Garden Scheme, writes Oscar Bland.
Pupils have been planting vegetables throughout term and visitors will be able to walk through the garden and view these plots.
The site also boasts an apiary with 6 hives, a pond which houses newts, and frequent visits from a wide variety of wildlife, including foxes and badgers, to deer and rabbits.
Admission is £5 for adults and children go free.
Cash raised will go towards caring for the grounds and improving plant biodiversity across the site.
