RESIDENTS are being urged to walk or dance through a sea of shades at this year’s Droitwich Colour Run for Sight Concern Worcestershire.
The Go Bright For Sight event will take place on June 25 at Droitwich Lido Park and will see the runners’ pristine white gear turned all the colours of the rainbow as they make their way through the paint stations which have been sponsored by Fortis Living AKW, FirstSolution and Modus Creative.
Fiona Blake, the charity’s fund-raising manager, said: “The Go Bright for Sight Colour Run is open to walkers and runners of all ages.
“Sight Concern will offer sighted guides to enable people with sight loss to participate, and be an active part of their local community.
“Party in the Park with us after the run as we continue our family friendly entertainment with a DJ, face painting, bouncy castles and refreshments.”
Managing director Nigel Church of Worcester-based First Solution said: “We’re thrilled to be sponsoring the green station and a team of staff will be running as well.
“Sight Concern is very close to our hearts because as an IT support company we’re very aware of the importance of technology for people with sight loss.
“Talking software enables people to do things that were previously impossible like shopping or sending emails, which reduces isolation and helps maintain independence.”
Entry costs £11 for adults and £7.50 for children and includes entertainment and neon sunglasses.
