THREE schools in Droitwich have helped raise £2,000 for military charities, writes Demi Andrews.
Fifty schoolchildren raised the roof at the sell-out Voices of Remembrance charity fund-raising concert at Worcester Cathedral to commemorate the centenary of the First World War Armistice.
Schoolchildren from St Peter’s C of E Academy, Wychbold First School and Nursery and Cutnall Green Primary School joined together to form the orchestral and choral work ‘Voices of Remembrance’, set to music by composer Laura Rossi.
Kate Brunt, chief executive of the Rivers C of E Academy Trust, said: “It was amazing to watch children from nine different schools rehearse and gel together and perform to such a high standard.”
‘Voices of Remembrance’ raised £2,000 for the Worcestershire Branch of SSAFA, The Royal British Legion and ABF The Soldiers’ Charity.
