THIS bank holiday weekend sees the long awaited return of the St Richard’s Canal Festival to Droitwich.
The popular family friendly festival has been organised by The Worcester-Birmingham and Droitwich Canals Society with support from Wychavon District Council and Droitwich Town Council.
The event takes place in Vines park from 5pm Friday, April 30, until 5pm on Monday, May 2.
There is live entertainment for most of the weekend, including a real ale bar and boat trips.
The event culminates on Monday afternoon with The Great Droitwich Duck Race at 4.30pm.
Cash prizes are up for grabs for the first three laces.
Admission is completely free.
This year the event commemorates 250 years since the Droitwich canals were opened and 10 years since they were reopened.
