A POPULAR Droitwich vicar will be moving on to pastures new at the end of this month after spending two-and-a-half years in the town.

She has been responsible for five churches, including St Andrews, St Augustines, St Peters, St Michaels in Salwarpe and St Michaels and All Angels in Martin Hussingtree.

The vicar will be moving to become the Rector of St Mary the Virgin in Lymn in Cheshire.

Rev Bev, who arrived in Droitwich in March 2015, told The Standard: “I have had a great time in Droitwich and will take away many fond memories.”

She said among them will be the messy churches and in her school governor roles at Droitwich Spa High and St Peters Academy.

“I will really miss the people.

“I have met so many families and helpers during my time here and have learnt so much.

“Droitwich is such a diverse area with those who live in the town and those in the rural communities it has been a great experience and I have learnt so much.

“It’s been fantastic to see so many churhces which did not know each other so well come together as one and the Worcester Diocese is excellent.

“I really am sorry to be leaving.”

Rev Bev’s last Messy Church will be next Saturday, September 16, at the St Andrews Parish Centre. It will mark the event’s two-year anniversary.

Her final service will be the Harvest Service at 3pm on September 24.

The day before that, between 3pm and 6pm on September 23, there will be an Apple Fest and Goodbye Social at Salwarpe Rectory where people will be able to pick apples, blackberries and pears from the Rectory’s bushes and trees. There will also be tea, coffee, cake and prosecco on offer.
