POLICE are trying to trace the driver of a car which left the Droitwich Road in Ombersley and ended up in a field, on its roof and in flames at 1.04am this morning.

When the fire service and ambulance arrived the doors of the car were open but the driver was nowhere to be seen.

Two fire crews from Droitwich extinguished the blaze but the car was so badly burnt the model was difficult to identify.

Police were called to the scene and think it could be a Vauxhall Corsa.

Sgt Sarah Kent said: “The car was absolutely burnt to a crisp.”

Any witnesses or anyone with any information should call police on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
