OFFICERS in Droitwich have moved to reassure the public about large police presences in the town on the last two consecutive nights.
The first occasion was on Sunday evening, around 5pm, when there were reports of numerous police cars in Chawson.
Then last night there were several police vehicles on Ombersley Road, near to the town’s railway station.
PC Richard Rees from Droitwich Safer Neighbourhood Team (SNT) said the two incidents were linked but there was no need for any alarm.
“There is nothing for anyone to worry about and no danger to the public.
“We had heard a person wanted in connection with an offence was in those areas at the time and we were trying to apprehend them.
“Work is ongoing by officers relating to the incidents concerned.”
