PEOPLE are being warned to be vigilant after reports of fraud and theft of mail in Droitwich.
Properties with either standalone or external letterboxes have been targeted by thieves as they can be easily accessed.
Residents with these types of letterboxes are urged to use tamper-proof boxes to provide greater security.
PC Rachel Hutton, from Droitwich Police, said: ““If you have had mail stolen, received mail from banks in your name or received credit cards in your name that you didn’t request we would like to hear from you.
“It may be you don’t live in the Droitwich area but think you may have been a victim of this fraud in which case, please get in touch with us.”
She added while some positive progress has been made by officers investigating the reports, they would still like everyone to be aware of the scam and the theft element involved.
She urged people to also alert vulnerable neighbours, friends and family members so they can be aware of what is happening.
Anyone who has been a victim of the crime or has any information which would help the investigation, should call PC Hutton of Droitwich Police on 101.
If a crime is in progress they should call 999.
