Droitwich Editorial 21st Jan, 2019   0

A WARNING has gone out to shoppers in Droitwich town centre following a distraction purse theft over the weekend.

The incident happened between 12.15pm and 12.30pm in St Andrews Square.

Two women distracted the female victim with a petition and then took the purse.

One of the alleged thieves was around 30 years old and the other one was older.

Both were wearing black clothing.

Police advise that people be wary of those around, especially anyone asking for help with anything and of people getting too close.

They urge shoppers to keep their purses, wallets and valuables close to them at all times and not to leave them away from their person for any length of time.

Witnesses or anyone with any information should call police on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
