The 47-year-old victim was walking along a footpath next to the allotments, which come out on to the Worcester Road near the former Texaco Garage, about 8.55am on Wednesday (October 22).

The woman was approached by a man who brushed against her as he walked past before grabbing her bag and attempting to pull it off her. The victim managed to fight him off and keep hold of her bag before he eventually ran off.

The attacker was white, about 5ft 9ins tall, of slim build, had scruffy mid-length brown hair with grey patches, piercing blue eyes, brown teeth and an unshaved face.
