BRITISH Transport Police have confirmed a man in his 50s died at Bromsgrove Station yesterday after being hit by a train.

The incident happened around 6pm.

Police and paramedics attended the incident but nothing could be done to save him.

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesperson said the man was confirmed dead at the scene.

“Ambulance staff checked on the welfare of the train driver and other members of the public but there were no other patients.”

A file is now being prepared for the Worcestershire Coroner.

British Transport Police has said the death was not been treated as suspicious.

Services between Birmingham, Bromsgrove and Droitwich were delayed last night while the emergency services dealt with the situation.

All lines through Bromsgrove were shut and access to the station’s platforms were also closed.
