POLICE in Droitwich are trying to get to the bottom of a reported assault in the town on Friday night (July 31).

Officers have received information an attack happened at 7pm near Vines Park but no victim has come forward which has led to some confusion.

It is thought the victim was a man but his age is unknown. It is believed the attack was carried out by a teenager and that  the victim did not suffer any serious injuries.

Officers have appealed to a woman known to have filmed the attacker to get in touch.

Speaking about the appeal DC Dave Wood said: “It is unusual for us to make an appeal when we have no victim identified but we have been made aware this incident might have happened and we want to ensure that, if anyone was assaulted, that they know they can come forward.

“If you were involved in this incident or perhaps witnessed it please get in touch.

“I am particularly keen to speak with the male who was attacked and a female member of the public who stopped to help the victim and filmed the offender.”

Anyone with any information should call police on 01905 331187 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
