POLICE have released this picture of a man they want to speak to in connection with the discovery of a body in Droitwich yesterday morning.

Officers believe he may be able to help them with their enquiries after the man, who was in his 80s, was found dead at a property in Vines Lane.

Yesterday morning police received a call from a member of the public who was concerned for the welfare of a man at his home.

Emergency services attended a house in Vines Lane and sadly a man was pronounced dead at the scene.

His death is currently being treated as unexplained.

Det Insp Mark Walters said: “This is a tragic incident and we are currently carrying out enquiries to understand exactly what has happened.

“Our investigation into the death of this man is very much in the initial stages and we are appealing for anyone who may have been in the area of Vines Lane, Droitwich between Sunday evening (June 23) and 9am on Monday morning (June 24) who may have seen or heard anything that could help us.

“I want to reassure the local community we are continuing to carry out a meticulous investigation and residents are likely to see an increased police presence in the area.

“We would particularly like to identify the man in the image who may be able to assist with our ongoing investigation.”

Anyone with any information can contact West Mercia Police on 101 quoting reference 94s of 24 June 2019 or alternatively information can be passed to Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
