Nurses at Droitwich care home receive chocolates to say 'thank you'

Droitwich Editorial 17th May, 2017   0

A GROUP of nurses working at a Droitwich care home were given a box of chocolates to celebrate International Nurses Day.

Upper management from Shaw Healthcare decided to show their appreciation for the 147 qualified nurses in its care homes, including staff from St John’s in Droitwich.

Deputy CEO of Shaw Healthcare Suzanne Hughes, who presented the chocolates, said; “As someone from a nursing background, I know only too well the demands placed upon nurses and the commitment and devotion they show to those in their care.

“I wish I could personally thank each of our nurses for their contributions and the positive impact they have on the people using our services”.

Shaw Healthcare’s director of nursing Ewan McLean added: “Nurses are the superheroes of the healthcare sector and often their skills and compassion appear to go unnoticed, so we wanted to extend a small thank you with a token of our appreciation.”

International Nurses Day takes place every year on May 12 – Florence Nightingale’s birthday.
