NORBURY Youth Theatre is holding a production of ‘Hairspray’, writes Demi Andrews.
It follows of from the group’s success in 2017 with ‘High School Musical’ which won the Best Youth production in District Five, National Operatic and Dramatic Society.
‘Hairspray’ centres on the lovable plus-size teen Tracy Turnblad whose only desire is to dance on the popular Corny Collins Show.
When her dream comes true, she is transformed from social outcast to sudden star.
She must use her new found power to dethrone the reigning Teen Queen, win the affections of heartthrob Link Larkin and integrate a TV network.
The production runs from Wednesday, November 28, to Saturday, December 1, at the Norbury Theatre, Droitwich.
Evening performances begin at 7.30pm and Saturday matinee starts at 2.30pm.
