A HOLLYWOOD blockbuster from the 1990s will be shown at the Norbury Theatre on Friday (March 20) in memory of Droitwich comedy legend Rik Mayall.

Drop Dead Fred tells the story of Lizzie Cronin who, whilst going through a difficult time, opens a Jack-in-the-box from her childhood and releases her imaginary friend ‘Drop Dead Fred’.

He is played by Rik in the typically madcap style he became famous and much-loved for and, through a number of flashbacks, Lizzie realises that, whilst her pretend friend caused havoc for her, that was the time she was at her happiest.

He then helps Lizzie turn her life around bringing a fantastic feel-good-factor ending.

The screening starts at 7.30pm and tickets are £5, with all cash being donated to a charity donated by Rik’s family.

The film is suitable for those 15 and over.
