DROITWICH’s Norbury Theatre tasted success at the annual National Operatic and Dramatic Association Awards (NODA) in Stourbridge last week, writes Catherine Reston.
It was nominated for Best Youth Theatre and Best Pantomime.
The Norbury Theatre won the regional District Five accolade for the Best Youth Theatre Production for High School Musical and the Best Basic Programme for The History Boys which was also nominated for Best Drama.
The Norbury’s youth section was also nominated in the Theatre’s Beginners On Stage Group – age range eight to 13 years – for its production of Alice In Wonderland.
A spokesperson for the Norbury Theatre said: “After their success at this year’s awards there are lots of exciting productions coming up.”
Among them are We’ll Always Have Paris next month, Avenue Q in June, Don’t Dress For Dinner in September, Jekyll and Hyde The Musical in October, Journey’s End in November and, hoping to repeat the NODA success, the Youth Theatre’s Hairspray in November.
