Night-time walk across the Malvern Hills to help Droitwich man Mike with his mole-mapping machine legacy

A NIGHT-TIME walk across the Malvern Hills will take place to highlight the plight of a Droitwich man with terminal cancer and his planned legacy to buy a mole-mapping machine.

Lesley Harper – from Sanders Fitness, based at Gaudet Luce Golf Club, has organised the 10.1mile walk across the hills from north to south between 4pm and midnight next Saturday, January 29.

Mike Hull has been battling melanoma since 2013 and was told if he had been scanned by the high-tech device it may have been caught a lot sooner with a more positive outcome for him.

The mole-mapping machine will cost £45,000 and Mike’s fund-raising tally is currently at almost £25,000.

It would be based at Birmingham’s Queen Elizabeth Hospital so it can be available for everyone in the West Midlands.

Lesley has known Mike’s daughter Kate through Sanders Fitness for a number of years and been her personal trainer.

Lesley, who walks her dog a lot on the Malverns and will be taking on the Yorkshire Peaks Challenge in a few weeks, said:

“When we found out about Mike’s plan we wanted to do as much as we could to highlight the campaign.

“We want to encourage as many people as possible to donate to the cause.”
