A CREATIVE group of students from Droitwich Spa High School have come up with their own summer activity programme, thanks to funding from Wychavon District Council.

Lower sixth-form pupils Ted Cox and Adam Keen, supported by their teachers John Humfress and Matt Gardner, put together the scheme, designed and produced leaflets and posters and created a website for the project.

It is being billed as a ‘one stop shop’ go-to place for young people who want to know what exciting things they can be doing over the summer holiday.

All the activities are in Droitwich or the surrounding areas, such as Hanbury, Upton Warren, Bromsgrove or Worcester.

There are a variety of events, clubs and activities in the listings including street theatre, outdoor cinema, fitness challenges and rugby camps with Worcester Warriors.

Droitwich Spa High School was given a £1,200 council bursary set up by Droitwich Area Young People’s Action Group (DAYPAG).

Coun Richard Morris, Wychavon’s Portfolio Holder for Economy and Housing, said: “As chairman of the DAYPAG I am really impressed with what the students have created and the hard work they have all put into this project.

“The website is a great way for young people and families to get involved with fun activities to stay active and meet new people over the summer.”
