A NEW book is being written about the history of St Mary’s Churchyard which featured on the front page of last week’s Standard.
It is being created by Droitwich historian Paul Jones after Kevin Hyett, the man who is currently restoring the churchyard, approached him last year.
Since then, Mr Jones has been researching the site, going all the way back from the present to the Domesday Book.
As well as including detailed information about the churchyard itself, it will also feature several biographies of some of those interred there.
As part of his research Mr Jones wants any relatives of people who were buried there before the Second World War to get in touch if they can help in any way.
He said: “We are particularly keen to get in touch with the relatives of Tom Hemming who has a memorial in the churchyard.
“He died in France in May 1917 after being a casualty of the First World War.”
It is hoped the new book will be available before Christmas.
