A MASSIVE investment by Müller Milk and Ingredients to upgrade its dairies will secure long-term employment at its Droitwich plant.
The dairy giant announced this week it was investing £60million into its network which included sites up and down the country as part of a restructuring programme.
As part of its plans it will wind down its operations at its Chadwell Heath site in north east London over the next 15 months with the potential loss of 389 permanent posts.
But, it added, it was creating 180 new posts at its other sites and, although none of those roles will be in Droitwich, the company said part of the investment would be put towards enhancing its processing capabilities at the town’s plant, showing its intent to remain in the town and safe-guarding the jobs there.
Müller employs around 500 people at its Droitwich site site.
