Man in his 70s died after he was hit by a train in Droitwich

A MAN in his 70s died after he was hit by a train in Droitwich on Saturday afternoon.

The emergency services, including West Midlands Ambulance Service and the British Transport Police, were sent to the scene near Westbury Avenue, Chawson.

An ambulance spokesperson said calls were received at 3.41pm about the incident but unfortunately nothing could be done to save the man and he was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the train was also checked over by paramedics.




A British Transport Police spokesperson added: “The incident is not being treated as suspicious and a report will be prepared for the coroner.”
