A MAN has died after he was hit by a train in Droitwich Spa this morning (Thursday).
The incident happened near to the line near Ladywood Road.
A British Transport Police (BTP) spokesperson said: “Officers attended the incident which was reported to police at 5.46am and is currently being treated as non-suspicious.
“Paramedics from the West Midlands Ambulance Service also attended but the man was pronounced dead at the scene.
“Officers are now working to identify the man and inform his family.”
The man had not been named at the time of The Standard going to press but, the spokesperson added, a file was being prepared for the coroner.
West Midlands Ambulance Services confirmed it received the call at 5.50am this morning about the incident.
A hazardous area response team, merit trauma doctor, ambulance and paramedic area support officer were at the scene.
