A SPECIAL ribbon-cutting ceremony will be held when Droitwich’s new Lidl supermarket officially opens its doors this week, bringing 40 new jobs to the town.

The new store will open at 8am this Thursday, April 25.

Following the ceremony there will be the chance for shoppers to sample some of Lidl’s award-winning products, along with special offers.

The new supermarket forms part of the company’s ongoing expansion and regeneration plans and features an in-store bakery, parking for cars and bikes, customer toilets and baby changing.

Lidl GB’s regional head of property Jeremy Lee said: “We would like to thank all those who have played a part in bringing this new Lidl store to Droitwich.

“It is great for us to be able to create more jobs and investment opportunities in the area, and we can’t wait to start serving our multi-award winning products to the local community.”
