FRIENDS of former Droitwich Mayor Glenise Noyes met up at the town’s Tea Cups Cafe in Gurneys Lane to remember her.

The event was hosted on July 17 by The Droitwich Spa Area Forum for Older People on behalf of the town council.

Jill Edwards, from the forum, said: “It was lovely – the area outside the cafe was packed with people wanting to remember Glenise.

“We had a very good turn-out – there were people who knew her from the council and members of the stroke club and we had a lot of comments written in the memory book.”

Popular Glenise had represented Wychavon since 2011, had been a Droitwich Town Councillor since 1999 and was Droitwich Spa Mayor between 2008 and 2009.

She passed away in May after a short illness.

As well as gathering to remember Glenise, those who went along signed a book of remembrance and donated cash to the Midland Air Ambulance.
