Kind-hearted pupils hold Christmas party for elderly residents in Droitwich

KIND-hearted pupils from Droitwich Spa High School held a Christmas party for the town’s elderly on December 4.

It marked the eighteenth ‘Senior Citizens’ Christmas Party’ held at the Briar Mill school since it was first launched in 2001.

Guests were given presents as they listened to carol singers and tucked into a huge Christmas dinner which included all the trimmings.

Organiser Mrs Elizabeth Whitehouse said: “There are very few opportunities where teenagers get a chance to interact with older members of the community beyond their own family.

“So this is a great way for them to prove that the image of teenagers is not always a fair one.

“The students get so much out of the event and always comment afterwards how much they have enjoyed it and about what they learned from their guests.”
