THE HEADTEACHER of Witton Middle School has thanked the Droitwich community for supporting pupils with their remote learning during the current lockdown.

Members of the public came forward out of the blue to donate laptops and devices to help children get online at home.

Suzie Bourne said: “We are proud to serve our community by opening to vulnerable children and children of critical workers at this time.

“Those at home have embraced remote home learning brilliantly but there are a number of families who simply don’t have devices to do this.

“We would like to say a huge thank you to the very generous members of our community who, completely unprompted, have donated technology to benefit our pupils.”

She added the national demand for devices was significant at the moment, resulting in long delays preventing some children from learning.

“We are very much looking forward to lending these donated items out to our pupils working at home once they have had software installed.”
