A NEW comedy night featuring some of the UK’s top acts will take place at Droitwich’s Chateau Impney Hotel.

The Impney Comedy Night – on May 1 – will be a ‘Live at the Apollo’ style show headlined by Jason Byrne.

Other high-profile stand-up comedians on the night to wow the 1,000-strong crowd will include Hal Cruttenden, Justin Moorhouse and Gary Delaney.

Jason Byrne has been hailed in the national press as ‘the king of comedy’ and he is the Edinburgh Fringe Festival’s biggest selling comedian.

Jason has written his own six-part comedy series for the BBC and is a comedy show regular with appearances on programmes such as Live at the Apollo and John Bishop’s Only Joking.

Hal Cruttenden is a regular on a large number of TV panel shows, including Would I Lie to You? and Mock the Week and Justin Moorhouse is best known for his role in cult TV show Phoenix Nights and appearances on Michael McIntyre’s Comedy Roadshow and Fighting Talk.

And Gary Delaney is regarded as the most quotable one-liner comic in the country. His jokes have twice made Dave’s Top 10 Funniest Jokes at the Edinburgh Fringe.

Ben Elder, the Chateau Impney’s general manager, said: “We’re so excited to be bringing big-time comedy to the Chateau.

“The popularity of TV comedy panel shows has soared in recent years and to be able to welcome some of the best known faces on the comedy circuit, who are also regulars on these programmes, to our first event is fantastic.

“We are hoping local people turn out in force, join us for a big night out and leave smiling.”

He added if The Impney Comedy Night proved to be a success, the aim was to make it a regular fixture, turning Droitwich into Worcestershire’s Comedy Capital.

Tickets to The Impney Comedy Night, which starts at 8.15pm at the Regent Centre, start from just £30 per person.

Tickets which include a pre-show dining option are also available for £55 per person. Visit chateau-impney.com/comedy for more information or to book tickets.
