DROITWICH’S MND Warrior and proud West Bromwich Albion fan John Adams was given a VIP day at The Hawthorns by the club.

John – who has been bravely battling Motor Neurone Disease since being diagnosed five years ago – has now raised more than £14,000 for research into MND.

During his VIP day at the Baggies, John was treated like royalty – he had the cameras following him around all day and everybody was there cheering him on.

His daughter Helen Millward said: “What made it even more special was my brother Paul Adams and my nephew Luke Adams who are also very big West Bromwich Albion supporters went with him – it truly was a memorable day for them all to share as three generations of Baggies’ supporters.”

It has been a busy couple of weeks for John who also celebrated his 78th birthday on Thursday, getting plenty of messages on his social media pages.

He held another fund-raising drive entitled the ‘Power of 2’ as his MND diagnosis was when he was 72. He asked people to donate £2 to his cause, adding he promised ‘2’ never give up and ‘2’ save lives in the future.

He concluded the message by telling people they ‘2’ could make a difference.
